Meet Outstanding Master小蝌蚪APP檚 In Petroleum Engineering Graduate Peng Zhang
Peng Zhang has been selected as one of the five finalists for the Fall 2021 Alumni Association Outstanding Master小蝌蚪APP檚 Graduate Award. He was nominated for the award by the Department of Petroleum Engineering in the College of Engineering.
Zhang will be recognized during the Graduate School Commencement ceremony on Friday, where he will receive a master of science in engineering degree in petroleum engineering.
Dr. Boyun Guo, an endowed professor in the department of petroleum engineering, director of the , and graduate coordinator offered Zhang小蝌蚪APP檚 nomination.
During his time in the master小蝌蚪APP檚 in engineering program, Zhang contributed to Guo小蝌蚪APP檚 research into oil and gas wells and developed several research papers.
His article, 小蝌蚪APP淣umerical Simulation of CO2 Migration into Cement Sheath of Oil/Gas Wells小蝌蚪APP was published in the Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering (JNGSE) 小蝌蚪APP 小蝌蚪APP渢he best journal in oil and natural gas engineering research,小蝌蚪APP Guo notes.
Zhang also has papers in review with the Journal of Electrostatistics and SPE Production & Operations.
He earned a bachelor小蝌蚪APP檚 degree in civil engineering from the Northeast Electric Power 小蝌蚪APP in China. He worked as a civil engineer at CHN Energy Ledong Power Generation Company for several years, then realized he wanted to deepen his knowledge through graduate studies.
With his master小蝌蚪APP檚 degree in hand, Zhang will now continue to advance his studies in petroleum engineering at UL Lafayette through the doctoral program in systems engineering.
