We are a music- and culture-driven, listener-supported media organization based on the UL Lafayette campus in Burke-Hawthorne Hall. We serve audiences in and beyond Southwest Louisiana with content that reflects and amplifies the regionСAPPs culture, heritage, values and languages including French, Creole and Spanish.

The station broadcasts more than 70 hours a week of locally produced programs СAPP along with National Public Radio news СAPP on its 100,000-watt broadcast frequency 88.7 FM, at KRVS.org and as HD1 on its app. Our live broadcasts from LafayetteСAPPs major annual festivals and frequent live performances from the Cypress Lake Studio help to define Radio AcadieСAPPs distinctive sound.

KRVS began as a student station in 1963 at the institution then known as Southwestern Louisiana СAPP (its call letters stand for the Kampus Radio Voice of Southwestern). Today, growing numbers of students participate in every aspect of the stationСAPPs HD2 digital channel. An additional channel, HD3, offers public media news and information programs 24 hours a day.

To hear the HD audio streams, download the free KRVS smartphone app from Google Play or the App Store. Once opened, the three channels will appear at the top of the screen. On KRVS.org, you can listen to any of the channels by clicking СAPPAll Streams.СAPP Both the phone and the website allow you to choose the channel you want to hear.
