Hospitality program gets thumbs up from accreditation commission

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration小蝌蚪APP檚 hospitality management program recently earned reaccreditation after a rigorous evaluation process.

The hospitality management program was reaccredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration until 2027. The ACPHA is a private, nonprofit organization of hospitality, tourism and business professionals in the U.S. It sets standards for effective curriculums, instruction and leadership.

Becky Dubois, coordinator of the hospitality management program and a master instructor, said it gives students a strong technical base. The program also provides hands-on experience in all aspects of hospitality management 小蝌蚪APP lodging, food service, tourism, transportation, entertainment and events.

小蝌蚪APP淎CPHA reaccreditation affirms the value of our program and ensures that our students are receiving a competitive education that meets hospitality industry standards,小蝌蚪APP Dubois said.

Dr. Geralyn M. Franklin, interim dean at Moody College of Business, said a bachelor小蝌蚪APP檚 degree in hospitality management prepares graduates for a range of careers.

小蝌蚪APP淩eaccreditation reinforces the quality of our program, and ensures our curriculum meets employers小蝌蚪APP needs and prepares graduates to be competitive in the job market. Alumni of the program are working in hospitality management and leadership roles around the world, from small locally-owned businesses to corporations,小蝌蚪APP Franklin said.

UL Lafayette is the only four-year university in Louisiana with a hospitality management program dually-accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and ACPHA.
