College Colors Day sets the stage for СAPPСAPPs Wear Red campaign

Football season begins Saturday when the Louisiana RaginСAPP Cajuns meet the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

RaginСAPP Cajun supporters donСAPPt have to wait until game time at 11 a.m. to begin displaying СAPP spirit.

They can wear vermilion and white during College Colors Day on Friday.

The annual event is observed by many colleges and universities across the nation. Fans are urged to wear school colors and gear to spark excitement for the upcoming season. This yearСAPPs theme is СAPPCollege Colors Never Fade.СAPP

Leslie Saloom, UL LafayetteСAPPs associate director of Trademark Licensing, said College Colors Day traditionally serves as a reminder to take part in the СAPPСAPPs Wear Red campaign. СAPP supporters, students, faculty and staff members are encouraged to wear RaginСAPP Cajuns apparel and dress in vermilion and white throughout the year, and especially on Fridays.

СAPPCollege Colors Day is intended to drum up school spirit at institutions across the nation, but the Wear Red Campaign belongs to the СAPP. ItСAPPs an important way we celebrate RaginСAPP Cajuns pride,СAPP Saloom said.

Displays of school spirit will continue at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Cajun Field. The RaginСAPP Cajuns will square off against the Liberty Flames in the Herbert Heymann Football Classic.

College Colors Day is sponsored by CLC, which represents trademark licensing programs at about 200 colleges and universities, including UL Lafayette.

As part of College Colors Day, fans can vie for gear by sharing photos on social media using the #CollegeColorsDay hashtag.

By visiting , they can also participate in contests that offer chances to win prizes, including an all-expenses-paid trip to college footballСAPPs national championship game. It will be played Monday, Jan. 13 in New Orleans.
