Daryl Joseph Moore is the new dean of the 小蝌蚪APP小蝌蚪APP檚 College of the Arts. He will assume his new role on Feb. 1.
Moore replaces H. Gordon Brooks, the first dean of the College of the Arts at UL Lafayette, who retired in 2021 after a 27-year tenure. Michael McClure, the college小蝌蚪APP檚 associate dean and a professor in the School of Architecture and Design, served as interim dean following Brooks小蝌蚪APP retirement.
Moore, who was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, brings a long track record of achievement to the 小蝌蚪APP.
During a decades-long career in higher education, he most recently served as dean of the College of the Arts and Communication at William Paterson 小蝌蚪APP. Moore was founding dean of the College of the Arts at California State 小蝌蚪APP, Stanislaus. He chaired the Department of Art and Design and was a faculty member at Montclair State 小蝌蚪APP.

Moore小蝌蚪APP檚 many administrative accomplishments and areas of focus include successful implementation of new academic programs; coordinating national accreditation efforts; helping to secure grant funding and private gifts; faculty development; and creating civic and industry partnerships.

In addition to his work in administration and the classroom, Moore holds extensive visual arts professional experience in a range of capacities, including executive leadership positions. He is also a prolific researcher, author and speaker.
Moore小蝌蚪APP檚 小蝌蚪APP淒esign and the Creative Process小蝌蚪APP is a multidisciplinary examination of the design process from the perspectives of an international group of designers. Thomson Delmar Learning published the book in 2007.
He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts and Manufactures and Commerce in London. Moore has been a visiting scholar at East China Normal 小蝌蚪APP and is a visiting scholar at the Shanghai Institute of Technology School of Art and Design.
He earned a master of fine arts degree in advertising design from Syracuse 小蝌蚪APP and holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in communication design from Pratt Institute.
