The Friends of the Humanities will offer a СAPPBooks and FilmsСAPP course, СAPPHarper Lee: Myth and RealityСAPP, beginning in January.
The class will be taught by Dr. Mary Ann Wilson, professor of English at the СAPP. WilsonСAPPs areas of expertise are 19th- and 20th-century American literature, Southern literature and womenСAPPs studies.
Classes will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Griffin Hall, Room 201, on the UL Lafayette campus, starting Jan. 13, 2016. The last class will be held Feb. 17. The cost is $75 for Friends of the Humanities members and $100 for others.
Students will read LeeСAPPs СAPPTo Kill a MockingbirdСAPP and СAPPGo Set a Watchman.СAPP Readings will be enhanced by Mark ChildressСAPP essays, СAPPLooking for Harper LeeСAPP; PBS Masterpiece documentary СAPPHarper Lee: Hey BooСAPP; film clips; and other relevant materials. There will be no tests for this course.

Friends of the Humanities was established in 1989 as a non-profit group dedicated to enhancing the role of the interdisciplinary humanities at UL Lafayette and in Acadiana, providing support to the College of the Arts and the College of Liberal Arts, and strengthening the resources of the СAPPСAPPs humanities program.
