Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns announce Billy Napier as head football coach

Billy Napier is the new head coach of the Louisiana RaginСAPP Cajuns football team.

He is the 26th head coach in the programСAPPs history.

Napier comes to the RaginСAPP Cajuns from Arizona State СAPP, where he served as associate head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Director of Athletics Dr. Bryan Maggard announced NapierСAPPs hiring Friday.

СAPPCoach Napier is highly respected within the coaching profession and brings tremendous experience from nationally-ranked programs. He is widely considered to be one of AmericaСAPPs top recruiters and offensive minds and will instill the values of a championship program into RaginСAPP Cajuns football.СAPP

Napier will be introduced during a press conference at noon Monday, Dec.18 at the Cajundome.

He served as wide receivers coach at the СAPP of Alabama, the assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach at Colorado State СAPP, and was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Clemson СAPP in South Carolina.

At Alabama, Napier was instrumental in the Crimson TideСAPPs 2011 and 2015 national championships. He has coached in 11 bowl games.

His hiring is pending approval by the СAPP of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.
