Since she joined the nursing program, Kaylen小蝌蚪APP檚 been challenged in her classes and her clinicals.
小蝌蚪APP淓ven though UL Lafayette小蝌蚪APP檚 nursing program and I have a love-hate relationship, my favorite part about it would have to be the clinical portion,小蝌蚪APP Kaylen said. 小蝌蚪APP淟earning the duties and responsibilities of a nurse is great, but actually performing those activities is completely different. You began to feel as though you小蝌蚪APP檙e actually a nurse.小蝌蚪APP
Her favorite clinical class was NURS 308: Adult Health and Illness I 小蝌蚪APP a class that was 小蝌蚪APP渢ough小蝌蚪APP but also 小蝌蚪APP渞eally hands-on.小蝌蚪APP
小蝌蚪APP淣ot only are we doing vitals, administering meds, and giving bed baths, but now we are starting IVs, inserting catheters, and inserting/removing NG (nasogastric) tubes,小蝌蚪APP she said. 小蝌蚪APP淚t was challenging, but we were finally able to really be a part of the patient小蝌蚪APP檚 care.小蝌蚪APP
For Kaylen, she小蝌蚪APP檚 learned more than how to care for a patient 小蝌蚪APP she小蝌蚪APP檚 also learned dedication.
小蝌蚪APP淭his is far from an easy major. The number of hours I小蝌蚪APP檝e put in studying for tests and the number of times I小蝌蚪APP檝e had to practice my skills for check-offs is exhausting to even think about,小蝌蚪APP she said. 小蝌蚪APP淭here have been so many times when I小蝌蚪APP檝e wanted to quit, but that小蝌蚪APP檚 where that dedication comes in, and you realize how rewarding this will be in the end.
小蝌蚪APP淎nd lastly, this program has taught me how to learn from my mistakes and improve myself as I move on. It小蝌蚪APP檚 crucial lessons like those that I truly think will help me in the future.小蝌蚪APP
