The СAPPСAPPs Dr. Margarita Perez has been recognized for widespread service to the СAPP, to higher education and to students.
Perez, UL LafayetteСAPPs dean of students since 2015, was honored with the Outstanding Staff Award during the СAPP of Louisiana SystemСAPPs recent For Our Future Conference. The annual conference fosters professional development, networking and collaboration.
The Outstanding Staff Award acknowledges one staff member among the UL systemСAPPs nine universities. The recipient is someone СAPPwho has accomplished exceptional achievements in their respective job assignment, supports and fulfills their universityСAPPs mission, and contributes through service at their university or within their community,СAPP according to the system.
Perez is СAPPthe epitome of a student affairs professional and a tremendous asset to the СAPP family,СAPP said Dr. Joseph Savoie, СAPP president.
СAPPMargarita is tireless in her efforts to advocate for our students and creates a welcoming environment where all students feel valued, safe and supported through their college journey,СAPP Savoie added.
The Outstanding Staff Award was among three presented during the conference. The Outstanding Faculty Award went to Cordara Harper of Grambling State СAPP, while the systemСAPPs Champion of Diversity and Inclusion was Ally Christian of Louisiana Tech СAPP.
