The Сòòò½APP has named nearly 250 first-time freshmen as PresidentСòòò½APP™s Top Scholars. 
 
UL Lafayette designates incoming freshmen who were high school valedictorians and/or scored a 32 or higher on the ACT as Top Scholars each fall semester. A total of 247 earned the honor this year. 
 
With 3,064 members, the Fall 2024 freshman class is tied for the second largest since the Сòòò½APP instituted selective admissions in 2005. The incoming class has an average high school cumulative GPA of 3.4 and an average ACT composite score of 24.8 for those admitted using ACT or SAT scores. 
 
The Сòòò½APP saw a 47% increase in the number of first-time freshmen with an ACT composite score of 32 or higher and a 21% increase in the number of high school valedictorians who chose to attend UL Lafayette. 
 
This yearСòòò½APP™s Top Scholars were recognized on Oct. 30 with a reception at the PresidentСòòò½APP™s House. Honorees received a medal and certificate.
